Client Stories

YOU’RE NOT JUST ANOTHER CLIENT WE’RE NOT JUST ANOTHER FINANCIAL PLANNER

Our clients are our best advocates. Here are just a few of their stories in their own words.

THE BEST GIFT A GRANDFATHER COULD EVER GIVE TO HIS GRANDDAUGHTER

When Grandfather, John Rear, wanted to help his Granddaughter escape an unhappy school life, Chancery Financial Planning were able to help re-organise John’s retirement finances to achieve it. Thank you once again for another masterpiece of financial planning so well presented that even I can understand it! As ever I am eternally grateful. Now John’s Granddaughter is thriving and enjoying a new school life.

I never really doubted that I made the right decision. Now with your considerable help I am satisfied that the financing is manageable.

STAYING ON TOP OF EVERYTHING

Getting your finances in order can seem a daunting task with so many options available and life throwing the odd curved ball at you. Having your goals understood and a strong financial plan in place can make all the difference. We’ve helped two of our clients, a couple now in their fifties, plan and pay for their sons’ private and university education and a massive building project on their property that took months longer to complete. This plus dealing with those curved balls of redundancy and some sticky patches coming from being self employed whilst still staying on track with their retirement planning.

Chancery Financial Planning has been advising us for several years on the various financial products from pensions and insurance to ISAs and mortgages all in the context of our long term financial plan. Our bi-annual ‘surgery’ sessions keep us on top of our financial affairs and quite frankly, we would be lost without them!

DIFFICULT CHOICE? NOT WITH CHANCERY

Two of our clients, a couple in their forties with two young children, felt they had a tough either or choice when they were making the decision about leaving permanent employment to set up their own business. Protect the family or take the business risk? We were able to help with a financial plan to take care of both personal and business finances. This involved insurance and tax efficiency of income withdrawal.

The business is now doing very well with both partners working full time in it. We also now manage the employee benefits for the company and two other directors.

It took Chancery Financial Planning’s Master Plan to give us the balance and reassurance we needed. The advice, insight and understanding of our needs were and are first class, which means both professionally and personally we can sleep well at night. Not only that, it is delivered in and engaging and personable way.

A MAJOR SETBACK PROMPTS A NEW BEGINNING

Suffering a heart attack on his 49th birthday was a catalyst for our client, Peter Foster, to make some dramatic changes to his life. He quit smoking, set himself a goal to climb one volcano every year and started thinking seriously about his financial future. Peter is now 67 and retired.

As I approached retirement, Chancery Financial Planning helped me consolidate my pensions, totalling more than £100,000 and helped me find the best annuity deal. Together we chose a joint-life annuity deal with Just Retirement, offering about 15% more income than a standard annuity. The service has been excellent.

Peter now lives comfortably near Eastbourne with his wife Sylvia, enjoying spending the extra benefits gained with Chancery Financial Planning’s guidance. His goal to climb volcanoes has taken him across the globe from South America to the Far East. He also keeps busy doing voluntary work.

REDUNDANCY NEEDN’T MEAN AN END TO YOUR RETIREMENT PLANS

When redundancy hit one of our clients six years before his planned retirement date, he asked us to advise him on how best to arrange his finances for immediate retirement. He had no wish to find another job.

My main concern was for an adequate safe income and not making too big a dent in any inheritance for my two children. Chancery Financial Planning were able to help me this and much, much more.

Our plan not only secured a higher income for our client than he expected, we were able to achieve other significant benefits such as a saving on income tax of £85,000.

“What have wealth or grandeur to do with happiness?”
“Grandeur has but little,” said Elinor, “but wealth has much to do with it.”
